We founded PsycHealth to change how people think about the relationship between psychological and physical health.

Our well-being is not about dealing with our emotions with a stiff upper lip, and it is not toughing it out by ourselves. It is coming to grips with life issues that affect our psychological health, directly affecting our physical health.

There is a direct feedback loop between how we view the world and how our body deals with our experiences. For instance, depression has an immediate feedback loop to our heart health, and our heart health directly impacts our mental health.

  • Before Covid, the CDC estimated that 51 million Americans suffered from ongoing depression and anxiety at any given time. No doubt that number increased because of our isolation in 2020.

  • Women are almost twice as likely as men to suffer from depression.

  • People don’t have a way to discuss mental health issues for fear of being judged and labeled.

  • Antidepressants are among the most commonly prescribed pharmaceuticals but are routinely given without a baseline diagnostic.

Yet we haven’t an effective mental health diagnostic available to everyone that can guide treatment and monitor progress - until now.

The PsycHealth Founders & Advisors

Aurelio Prifitera Co-Founder Ph.D., MBA

Aurelio identified the need to tie together mental and medical healthcare.  When Covid hit in 2020, it was time to do something to help people by giving them a way to assess their wellness at home confidentially.  This perception grew into PsycHealth, which brought SelfView to the market as a rapid psychological assessment.

Previously Aurelio was the CEO of Pearson Clinical Assessments, which develops cutting-edge psychological and cognitive assessments. His career as a clinician, researcher, test developer, enabled him to build Pearson into the global leader in the psychological assessment and testing industry.

Aurelio holds a Fellow status in American Psychological Association. He is a member of the International Neuropsychological Society, National Academy of Neuropsychology, National Association of School Psychologists, and American Board of Assessment.

He co-authored 60 peer reviewed journal articles on psychological assessment and testing and has also co-authored several books regarding clinical assessment interpretation and scientist-practitioner perspectives.

Aurelio studied at Loyola Univ. of Chicago, Northwestern, University of Chicago, and University of Syracuse.

Alex van Putten Co-Founder, MBA

Alex van Putten had a career in banking, arbitrage, and real estate: building his first building in New York when he was 28.  In his 40s, he stepped away and moved to the Philadelphia area to live in the countryside.

When that wasn’t enough he joined the faculty at his alma mater The Wharton Business School, where he taught entrepreneurship and innovation strategy for 20 years.  There he published in the Harvard Business Review, among other peer-reviewed journals, and a book published by Wharton Press.

During this time, he co-founded Cameron & Associates LLC, an innovation strategy consultancy.  While consulting with many of the top global companies, he met Aurelio Prifitera, the CEO of Pearson Psychological Assessments.

Together they formed PsycHealth.net the developer of SelfView. Alex’ interest in psychology started at an early age due to having a schizophrenic sister and a brother who was a well known psychiatrist.

Alex studied at Boston University, Columbia University, and the University of Pennsylvania.
